Day 1

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, your guide will meet you at the Arrivals. After a general briefing, you will set off for an hours’ drive to the slopes of Mt. Meru gaining some altitude on the final portion of the drive to Mulala Village. We are met by a group of rural women called Agape Women Group. These active ladies engage in various economic projects the most popular being keeping of a non-stinging bee species which produce high quality honey known to cure a variety of respiratory diseases and a king of curing stomach ulcers. Besides, it has many other health benefits to the consumer. They also do Cheese production a variety of which you may sample. They also do mixed farming which includes banana and some cereals. A charming group of organized ladies; they are happy to sing to the visitors after which they prepare a traditional meal for all those present. Freshly-pounded coffee from their farm is prepared over fire made from dry firewood and everybody is welcome to take a sip. The cultural tour culminates with a short, guided walk in the village. Thereafter, drive to Arusha for overnight. Dinner and overnight at the SG Resort.

Day 2

Arusha - Tarngire

Breakfast. With picnics, you will be picked by your private driver-guide and head to Tarangire National Park for game drives. This beautiful park is famous for its huge herds of elephants which are the biggest African mammals, the baobab trees and the Tarangire River which is the source of water for the wildlife in Tarangire. Thereafter, proceed to Sangaiwe Tented Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3

Tarangire - Manyara

Leisurely breakfast will be served at your lodge. Soon after, leave Tarangire behind and take an hours’ drive to Lake Manyara National Park where you will spend a better part of the day with game drives. Two thirds of this park is occupied by the lake which has different species of aquatic birds such African darters, spoon billed stocks, flamingoes, marabou storks, saddle billed storks and many others. The remaining part is occupied by a combination of semi-arid areas, tropical rainforest which are home to monkeys, buffaloes, giraffes and prides of lion. Other animals such as impalas, gazelles, can also be spotted. Apart from the wildlife, the park is located below the East African great rift valley where the views are superb. Dinner and overnight at Nsya Lodge or similar.

Day 4

Cultural Tour - Manyara

Breakfast at your lodge will be followed by a short walk to the village of Mto wa Mbu. You will soon be joined by a local guide for a cultural tour of this village. Among other places, you will visit a kindergarten or a primary school, a local market, a traditional house, local brew plant, Makonde carvers and the local dispensary. At midday, you will be served with traditional Tanzanian lunch prepared in a traditional way in the same village. Balance of the day will be spent at leisure. The more active people may do this tour on local bicycles. Dinner and overnight at Nsya Lodge or similar.

Day 5

Breakfast. Soon after, collect packed lunches and head to Serengeti via the beautiful Mbulu countryside, the highlands then a drop down the Malanja Depression as you finally venture into the seemingly endless plains. Arrive in Serengeti for afternoon game drive. Serengeti is one of the biggest national parks in Tanzania and considered also to be rich in wildlife due to its vast numbers of different herbivores and carnivores. It is comprised of open grassland, shrubs, forest and water holes. The huge animals found in this park are elephants, big prides of lion, herds of buffaloes, spotted hyenas, cheetahs, leopards, elands, giraffes and countless species of birds. Dinner and overnight at Thorn Tree Camp, or similar

Day 6

Breakfast. Collect your picnics and go out for an entire day of game drives as you head to Central Serengeti, Seronera area. Late afternoon, check in at your Tented Camp in Central Serengeti. Dinner and overnight at your Tented Camp / Lodge.

Day 7

Early breakfast at the camp. With picnics, depart for Ngorongoro Crater and arrive at the rim in 3.5 hours’ time. Soon after, descend to the floor of the crater for game drives. Ngorongoro Crater is located within Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Besides its majestic scenery, it is also famous for a high concentration of wildlife including the big tasked elephants, black rhinoceros, prides of lions, buffaloes, black backed jackals, spotted hyenas and hippos. It also has varieties of birds such as ostriches, secretary birds, guinea fowls and pink flamingoes. It is the only caldera in the world whose walls are still intact. The crater also features the Elerai forest, swamps, Lake Makat which is alkalinic and the source of food for the pink flamingoes. Later, ascend out of the crater and head to the Country Lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Day 8

Slow breakfast at your lodge. Later, proceed to Lake Eyasi arriving at the lodge for lunch. The afternoon in Eyasi will be punctuated by short walks and sightseeing in the company of a local guide. Dinner and overnight at Lake Eyasi Safari Lodge.

Day 9

Early morning, you will be joined by the local guide for a cultural tour which commences with a visit to the hunters and gatherers known as the Hadzabe. Their hunting techniques are old but very interesting. They are normally accompanied by their dogs and usually prepare some barbecue as soon as they return from a hunting expedition. Thereafter, you will visit the Datoga whose talented singers produce some good rhythm that go with movement of dancers gifted in leaping into the air. In both tribe visits, you will get a general overview of their history, religious values and economic activities. Dinner and overnight at Lake Eyasi Safari Lodge

Day 10

Breakfast at the lodge. Thereafter, drive back to Arusha for lunch at a restaurant. You may spend the balance of the day with last minute shopping before being taken back to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight.
