Upon arrival at the Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by your Safari Guide. Road Transfer to Arusha. You will be assisted to check-in at your hotel. Bed & Breakfast.
Breakfast. A short drive to the nearby Arusha National Park. A visit of the small Ngurdoto crater grants various view points from the crater rim. Its marshlands are home to elephants, buffaloes and hammerkops. You will then visit the complex pattern of Momella Lakes. Some are salty harboring flamingoes while others are fresh-water lakes with hippos and low-flying birds. Picnics for lunch. If you are still energetic, we shall visit the mountainous section whose views of the surroundings below are to be compared to no other. The Colobus monkeys, Blue monkeys, elegant giraffes, forest elephants, water bucks and bushbucks are all harbored here. Late afternoon drive back to your hotel, for dinner and overnight.
Breakfast. A three hours’ drive and we are in Tarangire National Park. Elephant herds, Cape Buffaloes in hundreds, clean Impalas, the Tarangire River Valley are part of what awaits you. With picnics at midday, the whole afternoon treats you to a good welcoming game drive. Late in the afternoon proceed to your Tented Camp / Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Early wake-up call sets the day rolling. Collect picnic breakfast and go out for an early morning game drive. Spend the entire morning driving through different parts of the park returning to the lodge at around 1300hrs. Good experience in the wilderness areas, a bit hungry hence the sumptuous meal served for lunch is badly needed. The whole afternoon is spent either by the swimming pool, or partly siesta and then a short, guided walk in the vicinity of the lodge. Dinner and overnight at your Tented Camp.
After breakfast, you will head to the nearby Lake Manyara National Park. Drive through the umbrella acacia woodlands, beautiful vegetation, some open areas then to the big Hot water springs. The dark colours, hot temperatures and the mountain of information at this point will halt your emotions to a stop. Move on to the Endabash river valley looking for big cats, savannah elephants, and on to the other side of the lake. The small section of the park with a sub-tropical rain forest is home to many families of baboons, while, the many flying birds sing with delight at spotting meandering visitors in a vehicle. With picnics for lunch, you will have ample time to experience all these treasures of Nature. Early afternoon, drive out of the park, up the escarpment and on to your lodge where with a clear sky you will glance at the kaleindscope of colours as the African sun, sets majestically in the west. Dinner and overnight at your Lodge.
A slow breakfast is followed by a short drive to Mto wa Mbu Village. You will be met by a local guide who will take you through the Village for a Cultural Tour. It will cover a visit to the rice farms, banana plantations, Makonde Carvers workshop, Tinga Tinga open air studio whose paintings depict various serious issues in the community some in a comical manner. You will also visit a local brewery for banana beer. For the more energetic, you may do a guided tour of the Village on a Bicycle in the company of a local guide who would be riding infront of the visiting party. This is the only village where Guides are available in both genders and they are a delight to be with. A Typical Tanzanian meal is prepared for lunch by a group of local charming rural ladies. If time avails, you will also visit various development village projects which are supported by the fees that you pay for this cultural tour like a Kindergarten, a secondary school, a local dispensary etc. Simple gifts like any learning materials in schools are normally highly appreciated. Late afternoon, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Breakfast. Soon after, you are on the road traversing through the beautiful Mbulu countryside, then up the highlands, down the Malanja depression and on to the stunning plains. Its picnics time while at the Oldupai Gorge. You will stop here for some time learning about the discoveries of the early man, made by Dr. Mary Leakey in the 1940s. Once we finish at this pre-historic site, we shall drive on to Naabi Hill Gate. A climb to the top of the tall rocks grants a chance to see the rolling plains to the North, to the East, to the West and to the South. The views are STUNNING! The afternoon awaits with game drives en route to your lodge where you will arrive by twilight. Dinner and overnight at your Tented Camp / Lodge.
Breakfast. The Serengeti magic awaits to offer you an experience today. With a full day at your disposal, there is plenty of time to go looking for leopards, cheetahs, hippos, terrestrial birds moving in groups, hartebeests, wildebeests and zebras when its migration time. With picnics, you are able to cover an area big enough to satisfy your appetite for watching game. Late afternoon, drive back to your Tented Camp / Lodge for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, collect picnics and drive westwards along the Grumeti river famous for some of the biggest Crocodiles in the world. The woodland areas offer some safe haven for herbivores who feel threatened in the plains by fastmoving cats. After taking picnics, you will proceed for more game viewing exiting at Ndabaka Gate in the afternoon. The lodge for tonight is only a short distance away outside the park, located by the shores of Lake Victoria, Serenity of the Lake Lodge. Dinner and overnight.
After a slow breakfast, you will go to the local village where you will meet a local guide. He will take you through the village for a Cultural Tour. After a full briefing regarding Lake Sango (Victoria,) mysteries that enshrouded it in the 16, 17th & 18th centuries, its economic importance to the Great Lakes Nations plus its survival challenges, as you will go walking in this small village. Among other areas, you will visit a Local Fish Market and witness the selling of the fresh catch from fishermen who spent the night fishing in the lake. You will also learn of various fishing methods, both traditional and modern. Then you will visit the local Market with more variety of farm produce which give a glimpse of rural living, staple foods etc. You will also have an opportunity to watch local tribe’s Sukuma traditional dance where you may also participate. In the afternoon, return to your lodge in good time to enjoy the lake breeze, and the memorable sunset! Dinner and overnight at Serenity of the Lake Lodge.
Breakfast is taken at a leisurely pace as you enjoy your last moments of the Lake breeze. Thereafter, drive back into the nearby Serengeti. You begin crisscrossing in the park looking for game. With picnics at midday you will arrive at your Tented Camp / Lodge late in the afternoon where you will take dinner and stay for overnight.
Early breakfast. With picnics, depart and head straight to the Ngorongoro Crater arriving on the rim by 10:00hrs. Spend the rest of the day with game drives on the floor of the crater. This is the last day of game viewing and it is great, it is unique, it is amazing! The black rhino is the symbol of this crater. There are also big black-manned lions more robust in physique and a delight to watch. Late afternoon, ascend out of this crater and drive to Karatu, a short distance away. Dinner and overnight at your Lodge.
A slow Breakfast is served at the restaurant. Spend the entire day at the lodge enjoying the swimming pool, the beautiful surroundings and the outgoing employees. It’s a day to sit down and run through the memories of the experiences enjoyed for the last 12 days. You will also make energy for your return flight starting the following day. All meals and accommodation at your Lodge.
After breakfast, drive back to Arusha with opportunities of shopping for souvenirs. After Lunch at a restaurant, you will be Transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport in good time to catch your flight
